Cats are generally not allergic to roses, and roses are classified as non- toxic to cats by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). However, cats may experience mild irritation or injury if they come into contact with rose thorns or if they chew on the stems or leaves. Also, pesticides or chemicals used on roses can be harmful to cats. Ingesting rose petals may cause mild stomach upset like vomiting or diarrhea, but roses themselves do not contain toxins that cause allergies in cats.
