In the construction of the building itself, bricks are laid in courses and held together by mortar, forming walls, pavements, and other structural elements. Brickwork can be designed in several ways including brick veneer, reverse brick veneer, double brick, and solid brick forms, depending on the needs for aesthetics, thermal mass, and structural stability.
