The elder son of Isaac is Esau. He is the older twin brother of Jacob according to the Hebrew Bible. Esau is described as a red and hairy man who became a hunter and is traditionally considered the ancestor of the Edomites. He was the first-born son of Isaac and Rebekah, but lost his birthright and blessing to his younger twin brother Jacob through deception. Despite this, Esau eventually forgiven Jacob after many years.
