Hamza Yassin is a British wildlife cameraman, presenter, and author originally born in Sudan on February 22, 1990. He is best known for his role as Ranger Hamza on the children's television channel CBeebies, presenting shows like "Let's Go for a Walk" and "Ranger Hamza’s Eco Quest." Hamza has also appeared on BBC's "Countryfile," "Animal Park," and Channel 4 documentaries about Scottish wildlife, such as "Scotland: My Life in the Wild" and "Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness." He won the 2022 series of the BBC dance contest "Strictly Come Dancing." Hamza moved to Northampton, UK, at the age of eight and learned English by watching David Attenborough documentaries. Despite being diagnosed with dyslexia, he earned a degree in Zoology with Conservation from Bangor University and a Master's in Biological Photography and Imaging from the University of Nottingham. He is a skilled ornithologist and wildlife photographer, living in the Scottish Highlands, where he studies local wildlife and pursues his career. He has written books about birdwatching and wildlife for children and beginners.
