To play Powerball:
- Get a Powerball playslip or use an electronic play option at a lottery retailer.
- Select five numbers from 1 to 69 (these are the white balls).
- Select one Powerball number from 1 to 26 (the red ball).
- Each set of numbers you play (five white balls plus one Powerball) is one play and costs $2.
- Alternatively, choose "Quick Pick" to have numbers randomly selected for you.
- You can also add options like Power Play for an extra $1 to multiply your non-jackpot winnings, or Double Play for another drawing using the same numbers for another $1.
- Submit the playslip to the retailer and get your official ticket.
- Drawings happen three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday), and you win by matching some or all of the numbers drawn in the official Powerball draw.
Winning requires matching certain combinations of the drawn numbers, with the jackpot won by matching all five white balls plus the Powerball.
