Ovulation can return as soon as about two weeks after an early miscarriage, but the timing varies among individuals. For early miscarriages (before 8 weeks), ovulation may occur around 2–4 weeks after the miscarriage, whereas for later miscarriages (after 12 weeks), it may take 4–6 weeks or longer for ovulation to resume. Some women can ovulate even before their first post- miscarriage period. Hormone levels, particularly the decline of hCG, play a key role in the timing of ovulation resuming. Cycles may be irregular for a few months as the body adjusts after the miscarriage.
