Cotopaxi is approximately 5,897 meters (19,347 feet) tall, making it the second highest summit in Ecuador and one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Another source puts its height very slightly higher at 5,911 meters (19,393 feet) , but the generally cited commonly accepted height is 5,897 meters.
