The operating hours of NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year for online transactions. This means NEFT services are available round the clock without any breaks, including weekends and public holidays. NEFT transactions are processed in half-hourly batches throughout the day. For bank branch NEFT services, the usual operating hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturdays (except 2nd and 4th Saturdays): 8:00 AM to 6:45 PM
- NEFT is not available at bank branches on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, but online NEFT services remain accessible during these times.
There is no transaction limit during regular NEFT hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). After hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), weekends, and holidays, NEFT transactions are allowed up to ₹1 crore per transaction. The beneficiary typically receives funds within 2 hours, although the processing may vary slightly depending on the bank and time of initiation.
