She is depicted as a precocious six-year-old girl who lives in the penthouse or the top-floor room of the iconic Plaza Hotel, accompanied by her nanny, pug dog Weenie, and turtle Skipperdee. Eloise's mischievous adventures throughout the hotel have made her one of the most famous fictional residents of New York City hotels since her first appearance in the 1955 book by Kay Thompson.
