In a TV interview after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at a Utah event, Rob Reiner said his immediate reaction was “absolute horror,” adding that the video of the shooting was “beyond belief.” He stressed that no one should face that kind of violence regardless of political beliefs and that murder is never an acceptable way to address disagreements.

Reiner also spoke about Erika Kirk’s remarks at her husband’s memorial service, calling her message of forgiveness “beautiful” and “admirable.” He linked her response to his own belief in forgiveness and in treating others with compassion, saying her decision to forgive the assassin was exactly right.
