The main product of cellular respiration is ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the molecule that stores and provides energy for cellular activities. Along with ATP, cellular respiration also produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. ATP is produced through processes spanning glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation, with the majority generated during oxidative phosphorylation in the mitochondria.
