Osama bin Laden was killed on May 2, 2011, during a U.S. military operation called Operation Neptune Spear. The raid was conducted by SEAL Team Six in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where bin Laden was shot and killed in his compound just before 1:00 a.m. Pakistan Standard Time.
