Aditya L1, India's first space-based solar observatory launched by ISRO on September 2, 2023, reached its final destination at the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 1 (L1) on January 6, 2024. The spacecraft traveled for about four months to reach this position, which is approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth, between the Earth and the Sun. It will study the Sun's outer atmosphere without landing on or approaching the Sun closer than this point.
