The Toronto Blue Jays are from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They were founded in 1977 as an expansion franchise in Major League Baseball (MLB). The team's name, "Blue Jays," was chosen from over 4,000 suggestions in a contest, reflecting Toronto's tradition of using blue in team colors and influenced by the majority owner Labatt Breweries' flagship beer, Labatt Blue. The Blue Jays originally played at Exhibition Stadium and later at the SkyDome (now Rogers Centre) in downtown Toronto. They are the only MLB team based outside the United States since the Montreal Expos relocated in 2005. The franchise started as part of the American League's expansion in 1977 and has achieved significant success, including back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993.
