where did ed gein die

Ed Gein died at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, Wisconsin. He passed away on July 26, 1984, from respiratory failure related to cancer, reportedly lung cancer. He was 77 years old at the time of his death. After his death, he was buried in the family plot at Plainfield Cemetery in Wisconsin, but his grave was left unmarked after his headstone was damaged and stolen by souvenir hunters.
