where did pearl harbor happen

Pearl Harbor happened at a naval base and harbor located on the southern coast of Oahu Island in Hawaii, United States. It is situated about 6 miles (10 km) west of Honolulu and is known as the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The harbor is a cloverleaf-shaped, artificially improved harbor on the southern coast of Oahu, surrounded by the cities of Ewa, Waipahu, Pearl City, Aiea, and Honolulu. Pearl Harbor is famously known as the site of the surprise Japanese air attack on December 7, 1941, that led to the United States' entry into World War II.
