“The Sacketts” (the 1979 TV miniseries) was filmed at several Western locations in the United States.
Main filming locations
The production used Red Hills Ranch in Sonora, California for part of the outdoor ranch and trail work.
It also shot scenes at the Buckskin Joe Frontier Town & Railway near Cañon City, Colorado, which provided a frontier town setting.
Arizona locations
A significant portion was filmed in Arizona, including the Mescal Movie Set near Benson, known for many classic Westerns.
Additional scenes were done at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson (used as the town of Purgatory and for the trip to Santa Fe) and on location around Patagonia and the Sonoran Desert, including the Salt River area.
