The planes involved in the 9/11 attacks came from the following airports:
- American Airlines Flight 11 took off from Boston Logan International Airport, heading to Los Angeles.
- United Airlines Flight 175 also took off from Boston Logan International Airport, heading to Los Angeles.
- American Airlines Flight 77 departed from Washington Dulles International Airport, near Washington, DC, headed to Los Angeles.
- United Airlines Flight 93 took off from Newark International Airport, heading to San Francisco.
All four planes were hijacked by terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda who took control and crashed them into their targets on September 11, 2001.
