Some succulents are toxic to cats, while others are safe. Succulents such as Aloe Vera, Jade Plant (Crassula), Euphorbia species (including Pencil Cactus and Crown of Thorns), Kalanchoe, and Sansevieria (Snake Plant) are toxic to cats and can cause symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and incoordination if ingested. On the other hand, many common succulents like Echeveria, Haworthia, Sempervivum (Hens and Chicks), and some Sedums are non- toxic and generally safe for cats. It is advisable to keep toxic succulents out of reach or avoid having them entirely in homes with cats to prevent poisoning.
