In Borderlands 4, to respec your character's skill points, you must use a Respec Machine. These machines become available after completing the third main mission titled "Down and Outbound." Respec Machines are marked on the map with a triangle icon featuring a person inside it. To respec, approach the Respec Machine and pay a fee based on your current level or cash on hand (around 10% of your total cash). Once paid, you can refund all your allocated skill points and redistribute them as you like. You can respec individual skill trees or all of them at once, and you can do this as many times as you want, but each session requires paying the fee again if you leave the menu before confirming your new build. Additionally, you can respec Specialization Points at the same machine, but this requires the special currency Eridium instead of cash. Respec Machines are located in several major areas, including:
- The Launchpad
- Carcadia
- Belton's Bore
- Bones of Sanctuary
- The Lockaway
- The Sumpview Falls
- The Food Court
You can find these pods in faction towns and safe houses. Respecing is an essential feature for experimenting with new builds without being permanently tied to your previous choices.
