Dogs cannot get hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), as it is a human- specific viral illness. Animals do not contract HFMD, which primarily affects young children. However, some animals including dogs can be affected by a completely different disease called foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), but that disease affects mainly livestock with hooves and is unrelated to HFMD. Therefore, dogs do not get hand, foot, and mouth disease from humans or otherwise.
