Dogs can see color, but their color vision is limited compared to humans. They have what's called dichromatic vision, meaning they primarily see shades of blue and yellow. Dogs lack the cones for red and green, so these colors appear more like browns or grays to them. Their color perception is similar to a person with red-green color blindness. Thus, dogs distinguish blues and yellows well but cannot see the full spectrum of colors that humans do.
