It is generally possible, but not very common, to test positive during implantation. Implantation occurs 6-12 days after fertilization, when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining and begins producing the hormone hCG. However, hCG levels may still be very low during implantation, so most standard pregnancy tests taken at this stage may not detect enough hormone to show a positive result. Sensitive pregnancy tests may show a faint positive 1-2 days after implantation, but for more reliable results, it is usually recommended to wait at least 3-4 days after implantation or until after a missed period to take a pregnancy test. Testing too early during implantation bleeding can lead to false negatives because hCG concentration is often too low to detect at that time.
