The cast of the 2025 live-action film "How to Train Your Dragon" includes:
- Mason Thames as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the inventive and awkward son of Stoick the Vast.
- Nico Parker as Astrid Hofferson, Hiccup's love interest and fellow dragon-fighting trainee.
- Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, the chieftain of Berk and Hiccup's father; Butler reprises his role from the animated films.
- Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch, the village blacksmith and dragon-fighting teacher.
- Julian Dennison as Fishlegs Ingerman, Hiccup's best friend.
- Gabriel Howell as Snotlout Jorgenson, Hiccup's rival.
- Bronwyn James as Ruffnut Thorston, one of the Thorston twins.
- Harry Trevaldwyn as Tuffnut Thorston, Ruffnut's twin brother.
- Ruth Codd as Phlegma, a member of the Viking village.
- Peter Serafinowicz and Murray McArthur in undisclosed roles.
This live-action remake is directed and written by Dean DeBlois, who also directed the original animated trilogy. The film is based on the book series by Cressida Cowell and features John Powell returning as the composer
