Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House, Representatives Abe Hamadeh and August Pfluger, have proposed legislation called the Charlie Kirk Commemorative Coin Act. This bill aims to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk by minting 400,000 silver one-dollar coins featuring his likeness on one side and the inscription "well done, good and faithful servant" on the reverse. The coins would also include Kirk's full name, the year 2026, and the United States' full name and motto. If passed, Kirk, who was tragically killed earlier this year, would become the youngest American ever to be featured on official U.S. currency. The final design would be selected by the Treasury Secretary in consultation with President Donald Trump. This proposal is part of broader efforts by Republicans to memorialize Kirk following his assassination during a speaking event in Utah.
