Cody Bellinger is an American professional baseball player born on July 13, 1995. He currently plays as an outfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). Bellinger was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013 and made his MLB debut in 2017. He won the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year Award in 2017 and the NL MVP Award in 2019. Bellinger has also played for the Chicago Cubs, where he won the NL Comeback Player of the Year in 2023. Bellinger helped the Dodgers win the 2020 World Series and has been recognized for his power hitting and defensive skills. In 2024, the Cubs traded him to the New York Yankees. During the 2025 season with the Yankees, he reached milestones including his 200th career home run and 1,000th career hit. Recently, he was playing well but suffered a minor left foot injury during a game in October 2025, which caused some limping but he expects to be ready for upcoming games.
