- White, homogeneous, odourless cream

- Aluminium tube with polypropylene cap
- Available in 5 g, 10 g, 15 g, 30 g, or 75 g tubes
- Tube formed from aluminium/PE laminate with a polypropylene screw cap

- Store in a refrigerator (2-8°C)

- 30g tube available only on prescription
- Small tube of Daktacort hydrocortisone cream (for athletes foot and sweat rash) can be bought from pharmacies

Uses:
- Topical treatment of inflamed dermatoses where infection by susceptible organisms and inflammation co-exist, e.g., intertrigo and infected eczema
- Infected eczema
- Ringworm
- Candida skin infections
- Intertrigo (sweat rash)

How it works:
- Miconazole nitrate destroys the fungus responsible for the infection and some associated bacteria on the skin
- Hydrocortisone acetate reduces itching, irritation, and inflammation

Interactions:
- Daktacort cream and ointment are not known to significantly affect other medicines
