decatur herald and review

The Herald & Review is a daily newspaper based in Decatur, Illinois, owned by Lee Enterprises. It originated from the merger of two papers, the Decatur Review (founded in 1872) and the Daily Herald (founded in 1878), which joined operations in 1931 but published separately until eventually becoming the Herald & Review under Lee Enterprises ownership in 1979. The newspaper covers local news, sports, opinion, obituaries, entertainment, and politics for the Central Illinois area. It has received recognition for its investigative journalism and digital growth efforts. The paper's headquarters moved to downtown Decatur in 2022. Additionally, the Herald & Review founded an annual auto race event at Macon Speedway near Decatur.
