DeepStateMap (or DeepStateMap.Live) is an interactive online map that tracks military operations, troop locations, and movements related to the Russian- Ukrainian war. It is created and maintained by the volunteer organization DeepStateUA, founded by Roman Pohorilyi and Ruslan Mykula. The map was launched on February 24, 2022, the day the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, and provides a real-time overview of the conflict using open-source intelligence data. This map includes the following features:

  • Zones of territory: recently liberated, liberated, occupied by Russian forces, Crimea and ORDLO occupied territories, and Transnistria.
  • Location markers for Russian units, headquarters, airfields, fleets, and directions of attacks.
  • Other functionalities like distance measurements between points and artillery range visualization.
  • Offline mode for use without internet, coordinate copying, various layer filters, and a drawing tool for creating and sharing schemas.
  • It has applications available on Google Play and the App Store, although the latter initially faced moderation issues.

The project began on Google Maps but moved to OpenStreetMap after Google blocked it, and now operates from its own dedicated website deepstatemap.live. It has become a widely used tool for tracking the ongoing war in Ukraine with military, volunteer, and civilian users for situational awareness and analysis.
