The 2023 Detroit Auto Show, officially known as the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), took place from September 13 to 24, 2023, at Huntington Place in Detroit. The event featured a new indoor electric vehicle (EV) test track called the Powering Michigan EV Experience, where attendees could ride in electric vehicles from GM, Ford, Volkswagen, BMW, and Tesla. The show also included off-road demonstration courses for Ford, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. Tesla made its first appearance at the show since 2015. The 2023 show returned to an all-indoor format and included major Detroit-based automakers GM, Ford, and Stellantis, alongside Kia, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Honda and Hyundai participated through local dealership exhibits, while Subaru did not return. The event featured media previews, a charity preview with entertainment by Jennifer Hudson, Technology Days, and a Mobility Global Forum focused on new mobility trends and technologies. Significant vehicle introductions included refreshed models such as the 2025 Cadillac CT5, 2024 Ford F-150, 2024 Jeep Gladiator, and the 2024 GMC Acadia, along with the debut of the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally
. The show also coincided with the start of the 2023 United Auto Workers strike, which targeted the three largest exhibitors but did not disrupt the event itself
. The Detroit Auto Show remains a key event for showcasing automotive innovation, especially in electric and mobility technologies
