Differin cream is a topical medication used for the treatment of acne vulgaris. It contains adapalene 0.1% (1 mg) in a vehicle consisting of carbomer 940, edetate disodium, methylparaben, poloxamer 182, propylene glycol, purified water, and sodium hydroxide. Adapalene is a type of retinoid that affects the growth of cells and decreases swelling and inflammation.

Positive:

  • Clears acne with the power of Rx, without a prescription needed
  • Prevents breakouts, blackheads, whiteheads, blemishes, and clogged pores
  • Restores skin tone and texture by clearing acne

Negative:

  • DIFFERIN cream has the potential to produce local irritation in some patients
  • Concomitant use of other potentially irritating topical products (medicated or abrasive soaps and cleansers, soaps and cosmetics that have a strong drying effect, and products with high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, spices, or lime) should be approached with caution
  • Adapalene cream should not be administered to individuals who are hypersensitive to adapalene or any of the components in the cream vehicle
