do male cats have nipples

Male cats do have nipples. Like all mammals, male cats develop nipples and mammary glands early in fetal development, before their gender is determined. Although male cats have nipples arranged in pairs along their belly, these nipples are non-functioning and do not produce milk or serve a purpose in nursing. The nipples on male cats look similar to those on non-pregnant female cats, small and often pinkish bumps along the abdomen. Typically, male cats have between four and ten nipples, with six or eight being common. These nipples remain as vestigial structures because removing them does not provide a survival advantage. If a male cat's nipples show unusual changes like swelling or discharge, a vet should be consulted as it may indicate an infection or other health issue.
