The tomb of Jesus is traditionally believed to be located in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. This site, dating back to the fourth century, is considered by many Christians as the place where Jesus was buried and resurrected. The church contains a shrine called the Edicule which encloses what is believed to be the ancient tomb and burial bench of Jesus. Archaeological evidence and historical traditions strongly support this location, although absolute proof remains elusive. Other proposed sites like the Garden Tomb exist, but the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has the oldest and strongest attestation as Jesus's burial place.
