Fucidin H Cream is a topical medication used to treat various skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis, with secondary bacterial infections. It contains the following active ingredients:
- Fusidic acid Ph.Eur.2%: An antibiotic that kills bacteria.
- Hydrocortisone acetate Ph.Eur.1%: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching.
The cream also contains several excipients and nonmedicinal ingredients, including:
- Butyl hydroxyanisole (E320): A preservative.
- Cetyl alcohol: A fatty alcohol that acts as an emollient.
- Glycerin 85%: A moisturizing agent.
- Hydrochloric acid: A pH adjuster.
- Paraffin liquid: A moisturizing agent.
- Paraffin white soft: A moisturizing agent.
- Polysorbate 60: An emulsifier.
- Potassium sorbate E202: A preservative.
- Purified water: A solvent.
The cream is not recommended for use in the following conditions:
- Atrophic skin
- Cutaneous ulcer
- Acne vulgaris
- Fragile skin veins
- Perianal and genital pruritus
Prolonged use on the face should also be avoided. Contact with open wounds and mucous membranes should be avoided.
