Gracie Mansion is the official residence of the Mayor of New York City, located in Carl Schurz Park on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Built in 1799 as a country home for Archibald Gracie, it later became the mayor’s residence in the 1940s and is now a historic house museum and public venue for events and tours. The mansion sits on a prominent site overlooking Hell Gate in the East River and is part of the Yorkville neighborhood’s historic fabric.
