how big are blue whales

Blue whales are the largest animals on Earth. They average about 80 feet (24 meters) long, with the largest recorded blue whale measuring up to 110 feet (33.5 meters) long. They can weigh as much as 200 tons, roughly equivalent to the weight of 33 elephants. Their hearts alone can weigh around 1,300 pounds (600 kilograms), about the size of a small car. Their immense size is greater than even some prehistoric creatures and comparable to the length of a Boeing 737 airplane or the height of a 10-story building.
