Maine Coon cats are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. Adult male Maine Coons typically weigh between 18 to 25 pounds (8.2 to 11 kg) and can reach body lengths of 19 to 40 inches (48 to 101 cm) from nose to tail. Their height ranges from about 10 to 16 inches (25 to 41 cm). Females are generally smaller, weighing between 10 to 15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg) and measuring slightly less in height but similar in body length. Some exceptional males can grow even larger, reaching weights up to 30 pounds and lengths up to 48.5 inches. They have large, muscular bodies with long bushy tails, making them significantly bigger than average house cats.
