A moose is very large, being the tallest and heaviest species of deer. Adult moose typically stand about 1.4 to 2.1 meters (4 ft 7 in to 6 ft 11 in) tall at the shoulder. Males usually weigh between 380 to 700 kg (838 to 1,543 lbs), while females weigh between 200 to 490 kg (441 to 1,080 lbs).
