Daytona International Speedway is a very large racing complex consisting of a 2.5-mile (4.023 km) trioval superspeedway track. The entire complex covers about 480 acres, making it one of the largest outdoor stadiums in the United States, with an infield area of around 180 acres that includes a 29-acre lake. The trioval track itself features 31-degree banking in the turns and is 40 feet wide with a 12- to 30-foot apron. The pit road is 1,600 feet long and 60 feet wide. Seating capacity for the speedway is around 140,000. For perspective, the Daytona infield can fit 15 of Florida's largest traditional sporting venues, including multiple college football stadiums, NFL stadiums, MLB stadiums, NBA arenas, and NHL arenas, highlighting just how expansive the facility really is.
