Guyana is approximately 214,969 square kilometers or about 83,000 square miles in size. It is one of the smaller countries in South America, roughly the size of Great Britain or slightly smaller than the state of Idaho in the United States. This land area encompasses diverse geographical regions including coastal plains, rainforests, savannahs, and mountain ranges such as the Pakaraima Mountains, which include Guyana’s highest point, Mount Roraima.
