Lake George has an average depth of about 70 feet and a maximum depth of approximately 196 to 200 feet, making it the deepest lake in the Adirondack region. Its deepest point is located between Dome Island and Buck Mountain. The lake is about 32 miles long and up to 2.5 miles wide.
