The Channel Tunnel reaches a maximum depth of 75 meters (246 feet) below sea level. More specifically, it is about 115 meters (377 feet) below the sea surface at its deepest point. Its tunnels are bored on average about 40 to 45 meters below the seabed. The tunnel runs between Folkestone in the UK and Coquelles near Calais in France, spanning a total length of approximately 50.5 kilometers (31 miles), with 37.9 kilometers (23.5 miles) of that underwater.
