Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. During a "Prove Me Wrong" debate event with about 3,000 attendees in the university's outdoor courtyard, a single shot was fired from a nearby rooftop, striking Kirk in the neck. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, had arrived on campus hours earlier, moved to the rooftop of the Losee Center for Student Success, and fired the shot before fleeing the scene. Kirk was immediately assisted and taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was arrested approximately 33 hours later after a manhunt and admitted to his father his intentions before turning himself in with help from a youth pastor and U.S. Marshals. The rifle believed to have been used was a high-powered bolt-action rifle found near the campus.
