Josh Allen broke his nose during a play against the New York Jets when he was hit in the face while running the ball. On a second-and-7 run, he pulled the football instead of handing it off and faced a tackle attempt where a hand appeared to get under his facemask, and helmet contact came down on the bridge of his nose, causing significant bleeding. Allen left the game briefly for medical treatment, where gauze was placed in his nostrils to control the bleeding, but returned to the game the next play. He later described the hit as involving "a knee, a hand, somebody," and the helmet coming down on his nose, leading to the bloody injury. Despite the injury, he was able to breathe and continued playing with a swollen, bruised nose.
