Matty Lock, also known as Matthew Lock, died by suicide in September 2023 at the age of 19. An inquest confirmed that he took his own life, and it was reported that he had struggled with alcohol and the drug ketamine in the year before his death. The post mortem revealed substances of alcohol and ketamine in his system at the time. His parents revealed that his ADHD made him impulsive, which they believe contributed to his suicide and struggles with addiction. They have since been campaigning for awareness around ADHD and its links to addiction and suicide risk.
