Paul Walker died in a car accident on November 30, 2013, in Santa Clarita, California. He was a passenger in a red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend Roger Rodas. The car was traveling at an estimated speed of about 100 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone when the driver lost control, crashed into a concrete lamp post and two trees, and the car burst into flames. Both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas died at the scene, with Walker succumbing to a combination of traumatic and thermal injuries. There were no drugs or alcohol involved in the crash, and worn-out tires and unsafe speed were contributing factors. Walker's death occurred during the filming of "Furious 7," which led to a production hiatus out of respect for him and his family.
