Sol Bamba died at the age of 39 after falling ill before a football match in Turkey. He was taken to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital but unfortunately lost his battle for life. Sol Bamba had been diagnosed with non- Hodgkin lymphoma in January 2021 and was declared cancer-free after chemotherapy. However, his health declined later, and he succumbed to the disease in 2024. He was working as the technical director at Turkish club Adanaspor at the time of his death. His wife paid tribute to his courageous fight against cancer over the last few years.
