To reach the reward chest in the Moons of Peril activity, you need to make your way from the Antechamber into the central Ancient Shrine within Neypotzli. The chest itself sits in that shrine room, and it only becomes usable after you’ve defeated at least one of the three Moons of Peril bosses (and all three must be beaten once overall to unlock it for the first time).
Route from the Antechamber
- Start in the Antechamber of Neypotzli (the lobby-like area where you choose which Moon to fight).
- Enter one of the three boss rooms via their respective doorways: Blood Moon , Shadow Moon , or Eclipse Moon.
- Defeat the boss. When the fight ends, you’ll be returned to the Antechamber.
- From the Antechamber, head through the central passage that leads into the Ancient Shrine (this is the main hub room between the three boss chambers).
- Inside the Ancient Shrine, you’ll find the Lunar Chest (the Moons of Peril reward chest) against the wall or central platform, depending on the room layout. Interact with it to claim your loot.
If you’ve never opened the chest before, the game will require you to have killed all three Moons at least once across any runs before the chest will give rewards. After that initial unlock, you can open it after any run where you’ve killed at least one Moon.
Notes on rewards and access
- The chest is officially called the Lunar Chest and is located in the Ancient Shrine within Neypotzli.
- You do not need a special key; access is gated purely by boss kills.
- If you leave the instance without looting, your rewards are not lost; they follow the normal Moons of Peril reward rules tied to your personal loot roll.
Once you’re standing in the Ancient Shrine after a boss kill, the chest is hard to miss; it’s the only interactable chest in that room and is clearly labelled when you hover over it.
