To lock your Facebook profile and make it more private, follow these steps:
- Open the Facebook app and go to your profile page.
- Tap the three dots next to the "Edit Profile" button.
- Look for the option labeled "Lock Profile" and tap it to lock your profile.
Locking your profile will restrict what people who are not your friends can see, such as your photos and posts, and will display a message indicating your profile is locked
. If you do not see the "Lock Profile" option, it may be due to regional availability, as Facebook currently offers this feature only in select countries. Users in the United States, for example, often do not have access to this feature
. If the option is not available to you, you can still increase your profile privacy by manually adjusting these settings:
- Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy.
- Under "Audience and Visibility," set "Who can follow me" and "Who can see your followers" to "Friends" or "Only me."
- Under "Profile and Tagging," adjust settings to restrict who can post on your profile, who can see posts you're tagged in, and enable review options for tags and posts
Using these steps will effectively lock down your Facebook profile even if the official "Lock Profile" feature is not available in your region.
