To reset your AirPods, follow these steps:

  1. Place both AirPods in the charging case and keep the lid open.
  2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth, find your AirPods in the device list, tap the "i" icon next to them, then tap Forget This Device and confirm. This unpairs your AirPods from your device.
  3. With the AirPods still in the case and the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds.
  4. Watch the status light on the case: it will flash amber/orange a few times, then turn white. This indicates the AirPods have been fully reset to factory settings.
  5. Release the button. Your AirPods are now reset and ready to be paired again.
  6. To reconnect, open the case near your device and follow the on-screen pairing instructions

This process works for AirPods (1st generation and later), AirPods Pro, and AirPods 4. For AirPods Max, a different reset method involving holding the digital crown and noise control button applies
